We're in the middle of the Fall season and there is a common theme I'm noticing, not only in my life, but the lives of my clients and that's learning to set boundaries. Whether its taking on too many tasks at work, having a hard time saying no, continuing unhealthy relationships, becoming overwhelmed by the up coming holiday season, or finding yourself in situations you're not comfortable with.
Fall is the time of year to take a hard look at these issues - getting rid of the things that make us unhappy and stressed and replacing them with with a more balanced state of being.
Out of Balance Physical symptoms such as frequent colds and flus, respiratory problems such as asthma, sinus inflammation and infections, constipation, diarrhea, and irritable bowel syndrome, fall into this category. On an emotional level, codependency, control issues, hoarding, and boundary issues may be a concern.
In Harmony The energy of metal is about setting boundaries, in a way that allows us to take in what we need, and let go of what no longer serves us. The strength of our immune system is based on this ability, for our pores to open and close when needed, for our bodies to separate out and eliminate waste on a daily basis. It is also about harvesting and recycling, being able to eliminate the clutter to make room for new growth.
